inhouse training and workshops

clown is an inner attitude: play is serious business

Many workshops take place within institutions as part of their ongoing programs such as teacher training, social circus training, burnout prevention, and so on. Theater clowning can offer the opportunity to explore fields such as communication, conflict, trauma, etc. within an institution. If you think your organization could benefit from a theater clowning workshop, contact us and we can create an individualised program to suit your needs together.

The art of theater clowning is an attitude and training which help nurture skills needed for acting and reacting in the moment, and to embrace the unknown. We practice stretching out of our comfort zones in a safe playful place. Participants regularly surprise themselves with their courage to meet the world in fresh exciting new ways.

Emotional intelligence: the acquisition and practice of soft skills through clowning within an organisation or program enrich cooperation, increase individual and team resilience, and in our experience, enable a greater respect and appreciation of each person, in particular for our differences. Emotional intelligence is respectful, inclusive and seeks authentic connection for its own sake.

Intuitive Intelligence: life is unpredictable, ever more so than usual. Competent, tactful and intuitive action is expected in cooperation in teams, organizations and institutions - decisions that affect the individual and the group. With its improvisation exercises, theater clowning offers a field in which spontaneous interaction can be trained. The exercises focus on body language and emotional expression and can contribute to relief in our predominantly verbal communication patterns.

Social intelligence: social intelligence plays a crucial role in forming human relationships. Knowing ourselves is the starting point. Our tool is play, followed by inquiry and reflection.

Method: We begin to warm up with games as well as voice and physical exercises. We continue improvising on a stage (alone or with others). Reflection follows, with a focus on non-judgemental communication, to highlight important aspects of our clown and what unfolded in an exercise.

Meaning and purpose: New perspectives, increased self-awareness and external perception, non-verbal communication, appreciation in dealing with others, joy in playing and humorous cooperation: all of this can be developed through artistic exploration of selected topics such as cooperation, conflict, communication and motivation. Theater clowning is a way to build resilience!
